A turbo motors powerband lends itself well to long highway drives where top-end passing power is important, the more laid back driving position in the Z is also more comfortable for long trips, and all the glass around you that lets sunlight in is refreshing. The aerodynamics of the Z keep a very quiet cabin at speed at the expense of visibility. Also, warming the car up and cooling it down properly when you just want to run some errands is a pain, getting in and out of an M3 is easier, the more upright driving position in the M3 helps in low-speed maneuvering and has superior visibility, naturally aspirated motor easier to handle when zipping through traffic and merging into busy streets
